The cross tattoo I am going to get is not necessarily price Xenical representing Christianity but general belief in having hope and spirituality. I want to embellish it with something that symbolizes being bold or something that means perseverance.

do a cross..then put a big fat ol circle around it with a line marking it out,or possibly have the word "void" in red over top of it
that shouldbe bold enough
